Tharsan Logendran is an Articling Student at Karapancev Law, where he supports the firm’s criminal defence practice through court appearances, legal research, and client advocacy. His work is driven by a deep commitment to justice and a desire to be a voice for marginalized individuals who seek support in their pursuit of fairness and due process within the legal system. Tharsan seeks to fight the good fight, protecting individual rights from abuses of state power. He understands that people make mistakes and deserve a second chance in life, and that people can be wrongfully accused of crimes they did not commit.
Tharsan is a member of the Association of Justice and Treatment Professionals (AJTP), a non-profit association spearheaded by Justice Kofi N. Barnes of the Superior Court of Ontario. The AJTP contributes to initiatives focused on therapeutic justice, access to treatment courts, and legal reform rooted in dignity and compassion.
Tharsan earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Ottawa Faculty of Law, where he participated in the Criminal Law Mentorship program at both the provincial and federal Crown offices in Ottawa. Prior to attending law school, Tharsan completed his Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Legal Studies with Highest Distinction from Ontario Tech University and an Ontario College Diploma in Paralegal Studies with Honours from Durham College.
Tharsan is dedicated to becoming a strong criminal defence lawyer who advocates with empathy and resolve. Outside of law, he is a fitness enthusiast and competitive gamer who values discipline, strategy, and personal growth.
